This trip to France was one of the best while on assignment with ITC. We flew into Paris and drove to Meximieux, close to the Bugey Nuclear Power Plant. I was new to the job and was teamed up with Jim Mattern. Very resourceful photographer. On the job when we had to fix a photo lamp (they were always breaking down) Jim fixed the short. Our "manguide" who didn't speak English, made the comment... "Mee-guy-vere"! He was a very funny tour guide who ended up as a successful drinking buddy. Also on the shoot was Olivier Proccacia and (I think) Fabrice Lienart. Fabrice was on lots of Euro shoots with us.
Olivier's father, Henri, invited us to their chalet in the village of La Chapelle d'Abondance. This is pretty much the storybook alpine village with a glimpse of Mt. Blanc. Cows, much like the one in the gallery, woke me up in the morning with their bells (more cowbell). The best alarm clock ever!
Shot with a Canon F1 (mechanical style) 35mm on Ektachrome.
